At Lion Heart Hospice, we are committed to providing holistic care that addresses the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of our patients and their families. We believe in treating the whole person, not just the illness, ensuring that our patients experience comfort, dignity, and a high quality of life. Our approach to holistic care includes a variety of therapies and support services designed to meet the diverse needs of those we serve.
Examples of our holistic care practices include pain and symptom management, where our skilled medical team works to alleviate discomfort and enhance well-being. Complementary therapies such as massage, aromatherapy, and acupuncture are integrated to provide additional relief and promote relaxation. We also offer music therapy, where trained therapists use the soothing power of music to uplift spirits and provide emotional support. Pet therapy brings joy and companionship to our patients through interactions with therapy animals. Additionally, our chaplains provide spiritual care and support, respecting each patient’s beliefs and traditions.

Our Services

Case Management
Hospice case managers oversee the comprehensive care of patients, ensuring that every aspect of the care plan is considered. They approach the patient’s needs from a holistic perspective, being actively involved from admission through the development and implementation of the care plan, to provide the best possible support.

Social Work
While the nurses and physicians at Lion Heart Hospice attend to the patient’s medical needs, our social workers play a crucial role in supporting patients and families. They assist with major healthcare decisions, helping with advance directives, living wills, and powers of attorney, and coordinating counseling services and grief support groups.

Holistic Care
At Lion Heart Hospice, our holistic care approach ensures that every aspect of a patient's well-being is addressed. We focus on physical, emotional, and spiritual health, providing comprehensive support to enhance comfort and quality of life during the end-of-life journey.

Volunteers
While volunteers aren't formal members of the hospice interdisciplinary care team, they play a vital role in providing emotional and mental support. Many volunteers join us after experiencing hospice care personally and wish to give back.
